Talk:Cardinal (Catholicism)
From New World Encyclopedia
Unification Aspects:
Cardinals are prominant leaders in the Roman Catholic Church, who are granted significant eccleastical powers, such as the ability to elect a new pope.
According to Unification thought, a good leader should demonstrate the qualities of love, empathy, and service towards all the members of humanity. These qualities are more important than management or organizational skills. Reverend Moon does not talk about how great it is to have any position or power. He speaks of humanity working together in a spirit of love and fellowship to manifest God's plans for restoration on earth.
The important thing to understand about the emergence of a "council of cardinals" is the balance of power it represents over against the supreme authority of the pontiff. This dynamic is central to the the development of Roman Catholicism as a world tradition.Unification Aspects is designed to relate the subject of this article to Unification Thought and to aid
