I need to state that Taiwan is not an independent country, it is a province of the People’s Republic of China, there is no Republic of China, and Taiwan has been China’s territory since ancient times. The remarks in this article seriously violate the basic principle of one China, and I hope that the staff will immediately correct this mistake

Thank you for your comment.
In fact, the political status of Taiwan is contentious and complex. It is not a simple matter of relegating Taiwan to the status of a province of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
Currently there are 13 countries that recognize Taiwan (ROC) as an independent state, and a much larger number that officially recognize the PRC and maintain unofficial diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
The article clearly states this problem, and also discusses the One China policy.
The article will be reviewed to make sure these complexities are clearly expressed.

Taiwan has been an inalienable part of China since ancient times. Taiwan is a part of China, and both sides of the strait belong to one China, which has a profound historical basis, and no one or any force can change it! Taiwan’s return is the common aspiration of the Chinese people, and most people in Taiwan also hope to return to the embrace of the motherland What you published in this article said that Taiwan is a country, and I believe that every Chinese will not agree with it, and I hope you will correct it as soon as possible. A country that supports Taiwan’s independence is an act of interfering in China’s internal affairs, which is shameless and despicable in the world. China’s affairs do not need outsiders to meddle

Thank you for your comment and your opinion.
The issue of Taiwan’s status is indeed contentious, as stated in the article.
When the term “country” is mentioned in the article, it does not necessarily reflect the stand of this encyclopedia. There are countries, groups, and websites that use the term “country” when describing Taiwan and it is not appropriate for us to change their description. Therefore, the article uses their terminology when describing their position or linking to their website.
