Mark P. Barry is a senior editor and member of the Editorial Board of the New World Encyclopedia, Program Coordinator of the Northeast Asia Peace Initiative of the Universal Peace Federation, and Associate Editor of the International Journal on World Peace..

He received his Ph.D. in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia, his M.A. in national security studies from Georgetown University, and his B.A. in political science from Arizona State University. He has taught international relations, international political economy, global management, intercultural relations, and modern Korean history at the University of Phoenix, University of Bridgeport, and Unification Theological Seminary. He was also a legislative analyst for the Arizona House of Representatives.

Dr. Barry's field of expertise is U.S. foreign policy toward East Asia, especially the two Koreas. He has worked in a track II capacity since 1991 to facilitate the improvement of American relations with North Korea. He has been interviewed by CNN about North Korea.
