He Omar may have accomplished many adventures as Allah wanted Islam to expand.But in reality his intentions and ambitions were for political power alone and not Islam to flourish.
Allah clearly decreed in Qura’n ordering Prophet Muhamad (saww) to proclaim Imam Ali (a.) as vicegerent and succesor.
This hadith is most authentic the proclamation of Imam Ali(a.s) as the legitimate ruler after Muhamad (saww).
Maybe if Imam Ali was at helm of leadership Islam would have prospered more than what Omar achieved.
We muslims are now disunited because of this leadership crisis and many school of thoughts have emerged .

mujtaba you say that the hadith of making Hazrat Ali (r.) is most authentic , but Prophet Mohammad (saww) also Said that if there would be any prophet after me then it would be Umar (r.) when he accepted Islam Hazrat Jibraiel (a.s.) came to prophet Mohammad (saww.) and said that the angels are wishing each other on Umar (r.) accepting Islam.
