Mediterranean Sea

i did’t know about mediterranean sea very well before, but when i went through new world encyclopedia i found specefic information about mediterranean and that was imaging.there is one thing that i’am not clear is that medirranean is surrounded by europe and asia which would be said as combined; eurasia and with african and europe that would be said euroafrica but i found in map that mediterranean is also called european sea or euroafrican. there is a fact that why they did’nt mentioned about asia, why its not called eurasian sea. its seems like asia is invisible between them(europe and africa)
