‘after his earthly life had ended’?
What other type of life is implied?

Thank you, LC, for your feedback. The phrase “after his earthly life had ended” is commonly taken by people of faith to refer to his physical life on earth as opposed to his eternal life in the afterlife. Your point is well taken, however, as it seems somewhat inappropriate in the context of this article. The text will be revised.

Thank you, Trinity, for your feedback. Vygotsky was born November 17 which is November 5 in the Old Style – using the Julian calendar. The text has been revised to clarify this.
