Me: Teacher – Web Basics!
One of the issues I address with my students are the problems associated with (what I call) cover-over; allowing drop-downs (or any pop-up type) to cover over the pages main text or images. I thought it fair to notify you all, in the event you want to correct that error (or I may start using your pages as an example of what NOT to do in this regard). In the case of your 2 fake tabs (Menu & Cat); when the mouse cursors over them, they expand (or drop-down in this instance) and then stay expanded, thus blocking the pages main text (you get a D for that!). Worse still; they do not close when the cursor is moved away, without a page refresh. The improvement would be to make the tabs actual tabs. Abandon pop-ups, drop-downs, and other intrusions of the pages intended content: the rule-of-thumb here: redirects should never interfere with page content. I take this time because I’d like to see an alternative to Wikipedia! I also like how you all wrap text around the “Contents” box: Wikipedia has too much white (or dead) space, but my council to them was ignored (I guess they too, fell into the “too big to care” pit). I use NWE first, when you have the page I want to link to. Thanks! PAA
