When you refer to the Native American people who lived in the area which is now the United States and named America, please do not say we were found by the Europeans. It makes us sound like we were just wandering around and didn’t know where we were. Please say they were met by us (the first people, native people, indigenous people, etc.). We were never lost. We were always here at home. It was Columbus who was lost. He and other Europeans were searching for new lands. They didn’t know that much about the known world so they were lost most of the time. Please speak in a manner that lets the world know that we were here when they got here and met them on our on grounds. Thank you.

Thank you Judy for your valuable feedback. You are quite correct; the Chickasaw were not lost. The article is being revised to correct such incorrectly worded text.
