Comment by Stephen Ballard on July 4th, 2022 at 6:17 pm an interesting link

Gustav Volkmar suggested in 1857, Die Religion Jesu, the Gospel of Mark and the other Gospels are a parable for Paul to counter the gospel of the Jerusalem church, the Apocalypse, and the Jesus of the Jerusalem church, Jesus Barabbas. The parable is that the Jewish church rejected Paul’s Jesus and Paul’s Gospel and chose instead their own Jesus, Barabbas, and their own gospel, the Apocalypse, in which Rome was to be burned with fire, as it was in 64AD — according to Nero, by Christians — and one might assume apocalyptic Jewish Christians. Hence explaining why John was exiled to the isle of Patmos.

Thank you, Stephen, for your comment. That is indeed an interesting thesis by Volkmar, and well explained in the article you suggest. A link will be added to our article.
