Kroeber did not remove Ishi’s brain, it was done while he was out of town, as Ishi died when he was out of town

Thank you, Devlin, for your comment. Indeed it was not Kroeber who removed Ishi’s brain, he merely sent it to the Smithsonian after the autopsy removed it prior to cremation. The text of the article will be revised to reflect this.
