The section on varieties of cabbage lists bok choi (chinese cabbage). However this is a different species, Brassica rapa, which itself has many forms and is derived from the wild turnip, not the wild cabbage. Chinese cabbage is sometimes grouped with cabbages in gardening books because of the similar morphology between cabbage and B. rapa ssp. pekinensis. Bok choi is B. rapa ssp. chinensis, and has a somewhat different morphology.
