Thank you for your comment.

The influence of Aurangzeb, like many significant people in history, spread far beyond his lifetime. For example, Henry VIII of England established the Church of England, separating Britain from Roman Catholicism. Had he not done this (in order to divorce Catherine and marry Anne Boleyn), the history of Britain, Europe, and much of the world (the British Empire) would have been very different. Many, many other people have influenced history long after their death. In fact, the founders of all the important religions have surely influenced history centuries, even millennia, after their deaths.

Aurangzeb’s actions in causing separation between the Hindu and Muslim populations of India, rather than the tolerance promoted by Akbar the Great, is surely relevant to the partition of India into the Hindu India and the Muslim Pakistan. Had Aurangzeb promoted tolerance, this might never have taken place. Thus, it is the case that Aurangzeb contributed to the partition of India, not as the immediate cause, but indirectly.

Your statement “Sambhaji succeeded in 1681. Though he was less effective militarily and politically….”, is absolutely wrong and give misleading information against Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

Little Clarification is given below in concise manner, hope you understand and change your above statement;

a. Ch. Sambhaji was second king of Maratha Kingdom after the death of his noble king father Ch. Shivaji.

b. Aurangazeb immediately after the death of Ch. Shivaji opened an vast military campaign to crush the newly established (Hindu)Maratha kingdom. Forces counted for 250000 infantry, 150000 cavalry, hundred thousands warriors-spear men-cannons-elephants-camels gathered all over from north and north west front of mughal empire.

c. Mughal army descended on Ch. Sambhaji, but due to his wit, unparalleled courage, leadership qualities Ch. Sambhaji was successful to keep mughals at bay.

d. Not only Mughals Ch. Sambhaji was fighting but was also in war with Siddis, Adilshahi, Qutubshahi, British, Portugese at same time. The approximate counting of opposing forces were given by Notable Indian Historian Sir Jadunath Sarkar upto 25 lac men and war machines

e. During this theater of war which lasted for 8 continuous years, Ch. Sambhaji never lost any of important fort and navy vessel.
