User: William Haines
William Haines is a member of the New World Encyclopedia Editorial Board. He currently teaches religious education at a secondary school in England, Great Britain. He is a co-founder of the International Educational Foundation in Russia. He was director of curriculum development from 1993-99. During that time he co-authored a series of textbooks for spiritual and moral education in Russia. The books included My World & I: The Way to Unification, My World & I: The Way of Love, The First Peak, and I in the World of People. He produced the Russian edition of Mary Pat Fisher's book Living Religions. He also co-authored and produced a teacherâs training manual. He is a youth pastor and has helped to develop a Sunday School curriculum based on Divine Principle.
Mr. Haines teaches workshops for Christian ministers and has recently been involved in JewishâChristianâMuslim relations. He has a B.A. (Hons) in philosophy from Manchester University where he also did post-graduate research on the history of the Russian Orthodox Church, an M.Div from Unification Theological Seminary for which he wrote a thesis on 'Spontaneous Order, and a P.G.C.E from the London University Institute of Education. He is currently reading a M.St. in Jewish-Christian Relations at Cambridge University. He is a member of the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain and the Scriptural Reasoning Society. He is also secretary of the British Academy for World Peace and on the committee of the Council of Christians and Jews.
