David Burgess is a New World Encyclopedia area editor, responsible for the areas of Art and Literature, Politics, and Sports and Leisure. Dr. Burgess holds a B.A. in Political Science and a second B.A. in Comparative Literature, an M.A.I.S. in Comparative Religion and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. In addition to working as a business executive and a government relations specialist, David has two decades of experience directing non-profit organizations including ten years as director of a youth service organization and six years as director of strategic planning for an organization that promotes intergenerational partnerships.
