Template: CongLinks

Template:TOCRight {{CongLinks}} allows linking to external links found on most current U.S. congress biographies. This will aid in the maintenance and standardization of these external links.

How to use

• This template is only appropriate for post-1991 legislators.
• This template should not be substituted.

Fields

All parameters are optional, but if you don't include any of them, nothing will show up.

Don't leave unused fields blank; instead you should omit the entire line.

• name:= name, if article title is inappropriate for captions
• congbio:= ID number of the congressional biography, shared by the Washington Post. This ID can be found in the biography URL: http://bioguide.congress.gov/scripts/biodisplay.pl?index=[congbio]
• fec:= Federal Election Commission ID, found at: http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/can_detail/[fec]
• opensecrets:= opensecrets.org page, found using the path from http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/allsummary.asp?CID=[opensecrets].
• votesmart:= vote-smart.org id, found at: http://www.vote-smart.org/bio.php?can_id=[votesmart]
• ontheissuespath:= ontheissues.org page, found using the path form http://www.ontheissues.org/[ontheissuespath]. For example, the path http://www.ontheissues.org/House/David_Davis.htm should use parameter "House/David_Davis.htm".
