Thank you for this entry. However, I must ask you to correct the cause of his death. There have been many mistatements, including Joska Aggissi’s verdict of suicide.
He died at home from a heart attack: I was there. He had been admitted to hospital a few days earlier with a heart attack, from which he was recovering. However, he insisted on coming home. He spent much of his last day on the telephone talking to his research students about what they would do when he was back at work. Unfortunately he had a second attack that night and in spite of heroic attempts he never recovered.
How do I know this: I was there at the time – and still miss him.
