Talk:Caterpillar

From New World Encyclopedia
Unification Aspects:

Living organisms, without exception, develop through stages, whether it is from baby, to youth, to adolescent, to adult in a human or egg, larva, pupa, and adult in a butterfly or moth.

The caterpillar also is part of a common metaphor regarding eternal life. As "caterpillars," people may think that this is all there is, and that the pupal stage represents death. Yet, after the pupal stage, the ethereal butterfly emerges, symbolic of the emergence of the spiritual person after death.
