Annie Oakley was a poor back-country orphan girl who made her way to world-wide fame. She was the very spirit of goodness. After her father's death the family depended on her to supply the food. Then later she entertained crowds of people. She loved making people happy. She won numerous medals and awards, all of which she sold, and ordered the proceeds to be donated to local orphanages.

In her life, Annie overcame poverty, mistreatment, and physical injury with her determination and strength of character. She played a role in breaking barriers for women with her talent and accomplishments in her sport. She showed great compassion and generosity to everyone she met.
