David Burgess, PhD., Politics, Art, Literature, Sports and leisure editor

David Burgess is a New World Encyclopedia area editor, responsible for the areas of Art and Literature, Politics, and Sports and Leisure. Dr. Burgess holds a B.A. in Political Science and a second B.A. in Comparative Literature, an M.A.I.S. in Comparative Religion and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. For the past seven years, he has served as the Northwest District Director of the American Family Coalition, and has, since its inception in 2005, served in a similar capacity for the Universal Peace Federation of the United States. He worked on the Ambassador for Peace curriculum for UPF-USA. He is the founder and director of the Seattle chapter of Service for Peace, a youth service organization dedicated to bringing about positive social change through service.
